What We Believe

Statement of Faith

The following is our Statement of Faith, grounded in Biblical truth.
The Godhead
We believe God is one divine being in three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit ( Mark 12: 32 ) ( John 10: 30 ) ( Acts 5: 3-4 ).
Jesus
We believe Jesus is fully God and fully Man ( Colossians 2: 9 ) ( Titus 2: 13 ) ( Romans 1: 3-4 ). We believe He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary ( Luke 1: 30-35 ). We believe He lived a sinless life ( Hebrews 4: 15 ) ( 2 Corinthians 5: 21 ). We believe in His teachings and miracles. We believe His substitutionary death on the cross made atonement for the sins of all who put their faith in Him ( 1 Peter 2: 24 ) ( Romans 5: 10-11 ).
The Bible
We believe the bible is God's inspired Word, and that it is infallible and inerrant in its original manuscripts. We believe Gods Word is Living and Powerful ( Hebrews 4: 12 ). We believe the Bible is God's instruction to man in the ways of righteousness through a relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe the answers to all of man's questions can be found in His Word ( 2 Timothy 3: 16-17 ).
Salvation & Eternal Security
We believe that mankind is born with a sinful nature and in need of a savior ( Ephesians 2: 3 ). We believe that salvation is available only through God's drawing ( John 6: 44 ) and the redemptive work of Jesus Christ at Calvary ( John 3: 16 ) . We believe that salvation is not a result of our works ( Romans 5: 8 ), but by grace through faith. We believe that we are created for His good works ( Ephesians 2: 8-10 ). We believe in eternal security of the born again believer ( John 10: 28-30). We believe  we are no longer alienated from God ( Colossians 1: 19-23 ), but have access to Him through Jesus Christ.
The Resurrection
We believe Christ was resurrected in bodily form on the third day after his crucifixion ( Luke 24: 6-8 ). We believe His disciples witnessed to Jesus rising from the dead through His appearing to them on different occasions ( Luke 24: 36-40 ). We believe He ascended to heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father ( Acts 1: 9-11 ). We believe Jesus will come again for the collection of the saints ( 1 Thessalonians 4: 16-17 ). We believe Jesus sits on the throne and has final judgment for all mankind ( Revelation 20: 11-15 ).
Water Baptism
We believe in water baptism by immersion. We believe it is an act of obedience that all believers should desire. We believe it is a display of the burying of the old man and the rising in newness of life in Christ, ( Romans 6: 4 ) ( Matthew 28: 19 ) ( Acts 2: 38 ).
The Christian Life
We believe the Christian life begins when one believes with the heart and makes confession with their mouth ( Romans 10 : 9-10 ). We believe all born again believers have the revelation of their sinfulness towards God and genuinely repent of those sins and desire to never return to their old lifestyle. We believe all born again Christians must obey and live out the two commandments set forth by Jesus ( Matthew 22: 37-40 ). We believe Jesus has sent His Holy Spirit to be our helper and to dwell with us forever ( John 14: 15-18 ). We believe by the power of His Holy Spirit we have the ability to walk in His will and fulfill His purpose for our lives. We believe those that are truly born again will be known by the fruits of the Holy Spirit ( Matthew 7: 20 ) and though imperfect, will bear the Fruits of the Spirit ( Galatians 5: 22 - 25 ) in the face of various trials and tribulations being a testimony for all to see. We believe all Christians should desire to be a part of the outward work of the church ( Matthew 28: 19 ).
The Church
We believe Jesus Christ is the head of the church ( Ephesians 1: 22-23 ). We believe the stewardship of the local body is to be overseen by the appointed elders ( 1 Peter 5: 1-4 ). We believe the elders are called ( Ephesians 4: 1 ) to this position and must meet the qualifications set forth in scripture ( 1 Timothy 3: 1-7 ) ( Titus 1: 5-9 ). We believe the elders are made up of a group of men with varying gifts ( Ephesisans 4: 11 ). We believe the elders are to disciple believers of the local body for the preperation of the outward work of ministry ( Ephesians 4: 12 ). We believe the elders and congregation are to walk together in untiy not only in the local body but with the universal body of believers as well ( Ephesians 4: 1-6, Galatians 3: 26-29 ). We believe the office of deacon is an essential part of meeting the needs of the congregation ( Acts 6: 1-6 ) and they must meet the qualifications set forth in scripture ( 1 Timothy 3: 8-13 ).
Life
We believe God is the Creator of life. We believe God created each person in His image. We believe God creates each person as either male or female, and these two distinct and complimentary genders reflect the image of God. We believe each persons biological gender is an inherent aspect of his or her nature and identity ( Genesis 1:27 ).
Marriage
We believe a biblical marriage is between one man and one woman, and God has designed sexual relations to be enjoyed only within the God ordained marriage relationship. We believe any intimate expression of sexuality outside of biblical marriage is sin. ( 1 Corinthians 7: 2 ) ( Ephesians 5: 33 ) ( 1 Corinthians 6: 9-10 ).
