Celebrate Recovery

At Harvest Church, we believe that love starts right here in our community. Through local outreach, we partner with schools and local organizations to meet practical needs and share the hope of Christ. Whether it's volunteering at a local event, filling our food blessing box, or simply offering a helping hand to a neighbor, we're committed to being the hands and feet of Jesus where we live.

“for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’ ”
Matt 25:35-36

International Missions

Africa

Hannah and Ashley Hale traveled to Uganda with Linda Jones, who ministers to a particular village called Wakikoola. The people there live in extreme poverty, and when Linda traveled there in 2014, she became aware of some needs, and answered God's call to fill them. One of these needs was a school for the children, so she raised money for a school that not only educates them, but teaches them about Jesus. Mirembe School has now grown to around 500 students. While we were in Uganda, we helped at Mirembe every school day. We passed out new panties and underwear, dresses and t-shirts, soap and toothbrushes, and also gifts from each child's sponsor. We served lunch, which is poscho and beans. A couple times a week, they also receive an egg with their meal. We were able to provide one special meal while we were there, which was chicken and rice. The families in this village rarely get to eat meat, so they were very excited. We also spent some time with the children and the staff.
The school is the main reason we traveled with Linda, but we were also able to minister to the elderly people and other families in the community by visiting them, bringing them food and clothes, and praying over any needs that they had. They were all very kind and grateful.

Harvest Church as a whole was a part of this trip - some donated panties and underwear, some sponsor a child to go to school, some made donations for specific needs, and they all prayed over the trip, which was extremely blessed.

God does see the poverty and needs of His people, no matter where they are, and sends others to fill those needs - and we were grateful to be sent to this part of Uganda! If you'd like to be a part of this ministry, there are still children who need sponsors. This monthly payment takes care of their school supplies and food, and as Linda says..."Changes lives, one child at a time."

We pray for the missionaries who are serving on mission teams that we send out and for the movement of God in unreached people groups.
