Day 5 - ONE: United with Him in Power

Reading:

James 4:7 — Believers are instructed to submit themselves to God and resist the devil, with the promise that he will flee.

Devotional:

The order in James 4:7 is not accidental — submission to God must come before resistance of the enemy. Many believers try to resist the devil without first surrendering to God, and they wonder why the battle feels endless. Submission is not weakness. It is the act of placing yourself under the authority of the One who holds all power, so that His power flows through you. When you are rightly positioned under God, the enemy has no foothold. You are not simply told to endure the devil — you are told he will flee. That is a promise rooted in the authority of Christ, and it belongs to you.

Reflection:

Is there an area of your life where you have been resisting the enemy in your own strength without fully surrendering that area to God? What would genuine submission look like in that space?
